Have you been questioning whether or not email marketing is still an effective and valuable tool for your business?

According to Statista, in 2019, the number of global e-mail users amounted to 3.9 billion and is set to grow to 4.48 billion users in 2024. Some think that Gen Z only uses social media and that email marketing is not as effective. 95% of Gen Zers say that email is essential to their lives and is a factor in their buying decisions.

According to a study by SendGrid and Egg Strategy, 85% of Gen Z members polled had an overwhelming preference for email as a communication channel. 89% of millennials and 92% of Gen Xers preferred email as well.

Customers are receiving lots of information everyday, including at least dozens of emails to go through. As a result, it is important to know your audience. What are their interests? What motivates them and what value are you providing them? Make sure your email stands out over the rest.

Tips for Enticing Emails

Subject Line

An engaging subject line can influence whether or not your email is opened. Short subject lines are key. Do keep subject lines under 5 words to increase your open rate by 50%. Make customers excited to open your emails.

Personalized/Automated Emails

Guests love coupons. Send them a thank you for visiting message along with a coupon for their next visit. If possible, use their name when sending out emails. This shows guests the email is directed to them.

Informative but Short

Add an image or two along with a few short informative sentences. If the email is too lengthy, it probably won’t be read.

Segment your Audience

There is not one size fits all for email marketing. According to an eMarketer study, Gen X shows extreme brand loyalty, similar to millennials and baby boomers. They are willing to pay a premium for the brands that they trust. Gen Z According to Campaign Monitor’s study of 300 Gen Zers, the majority (almost 65%) use email for personal communications.

Collecting data such as age, demographics, gender, frequency of visits can help you to provide more personalized and relevant content to your customers. BridgeLogic’s WiFi marketing platform allows locations to collect visitors email upon WiFi login. The platform also allows you to create customized automated emails.
